My name is Connie Odum. My husband, Richard and I are parents of two boys, ages twelve and thirteen.  We love camping, biking, and fishing; spending each vacation traveling to somewhere new is our goal.  We have wonderful experiences from Florida to Kansas.  We are still looking forward to exploring the Grand Canyon

I am an active member in my church.   Two community projects I serve on are the Secret Santa and the Empty Stocking Fund.  During the Christmas Holidays, these projects help provide food for families and toys for children of need in the community.

Amongst various activities at school, I sponsor the LMS art club. (See our club pages!)   Additionally, I support my boys’ participation in scouts, LMS Band, and baseball events.

I enjoy gardening, painting, and creating pottery.   A big art project, I plan to achieve is to paint some additional murals in my home.  I hope one day to carve a life sized carousel horse.

My educational experience consists of art training from the
Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Savannah College of Art and Design, Ringling School of Art and Design, and my BA in Fine Art Education from the University of West Georgia, Carrollton.  Other noteworthy art experiences were from ceramic study under master potters.  Rick Berman (an instructor at Atlanta's
Callenwollde Art Center, editor of Ceramic Times, and writer of numerous published pottery biographies and ceramic articles).  Berman is currently giving short workshops in Atlanta.
I received ceramic training under anagama potter Shiro Otani who is one of Japan’s national living treasures.  I received my Master's Degree in Education: Integrating Technology from Walden University’s distance learning program. Technology is providing new and exciting art tools for LMS students and me. Computer graphics and digital photography are now integrated in several art lessons.  I love seeing students engaged in their art.

I have enjoyed teaching for eighteen years and the learning experiences I gain never cease.  I am excited about our program, and I am always improving to make student experiences better.
